Data Rooms Providers is free to read. This page explains how the site is paid for and how we keep that separate from what we publish.
How we earn money
Some links from this site to data room providers are affiliate links. If you follow one and later buy a subscription, the provider may pay us a commission. You pay the same price you would pay by going to the provider directly; the commission comes from the provider, not from you.
We do not have an affiliate arrangement with every provider we cover. Whether or not a provider pays commission, it is researched, scored and described in the same way.
How affiliate links are disclosed
- Site-wide notice. A short disclosure in the footer of every page states that the site may earn a commission from some outbound links, and points here.
- Link markup. Affiliate links carry the
rel="sponsored"attribute, the standard way of telling search engines that a link is commercial. - No per-link labels. We do not place a visible tag next to each individual link. The footer notice and this page cover every affiliate link on the site.
This approach is designed to be clear and consistent with consumer protection guidance on endorsements, such as the FTC Endorsement Guides in the United States and the UK CAP Code.
What commission never changes
- Ratings. Every rating comes from the five weighted pillars set out in our methodology. Commission is not one of them.
- Order. The main ranking is sorted by rating, with ties in alphabetical order.
- Comparisons and shortlists. Head-to-head pages and industry or region shortlists follow the same facts and scores as the rest of the site.
- Wording. Limitations are reported for every provider, including those that pay us commission.
No provider can buy a placement, a score, a review or a change to our copy.
What we do not accept
We do not accept payment for reviews, sponsored rankings, or editorial approval rights. If a vendor offers any of these, we decline.
